Employee Surveys

Employee surveys help leaders to understand thoughts and feelings of a large number of participants (employees) in their organizations in a short span of time.

Pre-fixed questionnaires shall be used to gather data from a large population. Most of the questions will have multiple choice answers to choose from them. There can be a few descriptive questions that can be added for the participants to record their opinion as the answer.

Three phases of conducting surveys

Phase-1: Pre-survey consists of understanding the business of the client organization, what they want to understand from their employees (or other sources), what kind of actionable reports are they looking for, target audience (usually all employees or above a particular tenure or a location/country or a few departments etc.), languages, medium to implement the survey (mobile app. based/online/paper-pen model), detailed plan to execute the survey, internal communication, making logistic arrangements for the survey etc.

The participants shall be informed about the purpose of the survey, and how it shall be carried out. Anonymity of the survey conducted shall be informed to the participants. It is important to reveal the commitment of top management to improve the situation based on the survey report. Benefits of survey for the participants, company and customers also shall be communicated. This helps not only to improve the participation percentage of survey, but also transparency and quality of responses in the survey. It may take one to two weeks to complete the pre-survey process.

Phase-2: Implementation of the survey shall be conducted within the time frame (3 days to 3 weeks, depending on the number of respondents, geographical spread and literacy of the workforce). This will be driven by HR with the support of Business Leaders to gather data from all sources.


Phase-3: Post-Survey

The major activities after the survey are analysis, interpreting, report generation, presenting the report to the top management. TransCat People Solutions shall also assist clients in finalizing action plan, implementation, review progress at specific intervals and publish major findings.

Research had proven that those organizations took the above steps had increased credibility of their leadership among large workforce as well as it resulted in employee retention, increase the percentage of participation in subsequent employee survey, discretionary efforts of employees, performance improvement (quality and quantity), customer retention, improved revenue and profits.
